Kate Spade Book Clutch Review

I have had my eye on the Kate Spade book clutches for a while now, unfortunately the hefty price tag of $328 has been enough for me to avoid actually buying one.
Luckily flash sales exist! I bought mine for $125 which is still a pretty big purchase but much better than $328! I was trying to decide between the Great Gatsby and Great Expectations. I love books and specifically classic books so these were good options! I decided the Great Expectations clutch was a little too girly - it had hearts and swirls on it.

I decided to purchase The Great Gatsby clutch  - it is one of my all time favorite books!

Yellow is not my favorite color, but I think if I pair it with a neutral outfit and let the book be my accent, it will look so nice for cocktail parties and nights out!

I really like the general look of it - it kind of feels like a library book. I'm a bit nerdy and love library books so that appeals to me! It has a glossy finish which I love.

I also love how I can store it! It makes a perfect topper to my book shelf. ( I know my bookshelf is a little crazy - I really need to get another one, but my apartment is tiny!)

I would say the only down side is the interior is a bit small, but I expected that. In order to look like a real book you can't have it overly large. It can fit my cellphone, lipstick and my cash/cards if I take them out of my wallet and use the built in wallet on the inside of the clutch.

I love that the clutch closes well! It features the cute little Kate Spade logo and just looks very suave. I looked at buying similar items on etsy but all of them had zip-closures and I just like how nice the metal rim looks.

All in all, I am super happy with my purchase!

Up-Cycling My Vanity Table

I am lucky enough to have a wonderful boyfriend who understands my love of a good deal! I had been wanting a nice vanity for a while now but could never find the right vanity for the right price. I saw this little table in Big Lots but it was way out of my price range.

I just absolutely loved the color and even though it wasn't designed to be a vanity I thought it would be quirky and cute to use it that way anyway.

Just a few weeks later my boyfriend was throwing something out in his apartment dumpster and found this perfectly good vanity! He picked it up for me and offered to help me clean and refurbish it!

It was only missing a couple bolts to attach the mirror portion (not pictured).

Schuyler helped me sand the whole thing down. Talk about labor intensive! We didn't have an automatic sander so we literally just used scraps of sand paper, but hey it worked!

Of course I picked lime green! I absolutely loved this color. It's perfect.

Voila! Beautiful. Who says dumpster finds can't be beautiful? It just takes a little cleaning and effort :)
